Job Overview:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for deburring and polishing machined parts. Inspects products and reports defects; demonstrating safe work practices at all times and to identify areas of potential concern to management; participating in team activities, providing ideas to support continuous improvement activities within their work team or cell.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Measures and examines, completed parts, detect defects, and ensures conformance to specifications using precision instruments.
- Works directly with supervisor.
- Follows documented instructions.
- Maintains knowledge of hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Reads and interprets manufacturing drawings.
- Operates and maintains detail and cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work overtime.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High attention to detail.
- At least 3 – 5 years of experience finishing production parts.
- Experience detailing production parts.
- Ability to use hand and power tools.
- Comprehension of metal surface finishes.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with sensing systems technologies and aerospace product specs.
- Ability to learn and apply advanced technical concepts.
- Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers to promote strong working relationships and create an environment focused on teamwork.
- Flexible with work and job assignments and willing to perform any function as needed.
- Self motivated and able to work effectively and efficiently with limited supervision.
- Possess basic computer skills including database software and electronic mail software.
- Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and no color blindness, steady hands with good dexterity. (Company issued annual eye exam.)
