Job Overview:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that support Jennmar’s reporting and analytics environment. Works within the BI team to extract, transform, and load data from Ross, D365 F&O, and other source systems into the data warehouse, ensuring data is accurate, timely, and well-structured for downstream Power BI reporting. Builds and optimizes pipelines for performance and reliability; writes and tunes complex SQL; monitors and resolves ETL job failures; maintains data quality through validation, error handling, and logging; documents data flows and transformation logic; and supports data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling. Position is onsite full time at PITCORP, with two remote days per month after the initial ramp period.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ETL Developer, or in a similar data engineering role.
  • Strong hands-on SQL development and tuning experience.
  • Oracle database experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Solid understanding of ETL/ELT concepts, data warehousing principles, and data integration best practices.
  • Ability to independently troubleshoot data discrepancies and diagnose pipeline failures.
  • Preferred experience with WhereScape RED or TimeXtender. 
  • Preferred experience with Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, and Dataverse.
  • Preferred experience with D365 Finance & Operations.
  • Preferred DBA experience.
  • Preferred experience with dimensional modeling, SSIS, and Power BI.
  • Preferred experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, build, maintain, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines supporting reporting and analytics.
  • Extract, transform, and load data from Ross, D365 F&O, and other source systems into the data warehouse.
  • Ensure data is accurate, timely, reliable, and well-structured for downstream reporting.
  • Write, optimize, and tune complex SQL queries and processes.
  • Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures.
  • Implement data validation, error handling, and logging to maintain data quality.
  • Document data flows, transformation logic, and integration processes.
  • Support data warehouse architecture and dimensional modeling.
  • Collaborate with the BI team to support Power BI reporting and analytics needs.
  • Build and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
