We are seeking a Safety Manager for our client, a provider of specialized services within the data center and critical facilities industry. This position will oversee daily safety activities on an active data center project, maintain site compliance, identify and correct hazards, conduct safety training, and ensure employees and subcontractors follow established safety procedures.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily site inspections and safety observations
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks and required training
- Review JSAs, JHAs and pre-task plans
- Monitor employee and subcontractor compliance
- Identify unsafe conditions and ensure corrective actions are completed
- Investigate incidents and near misses and complete required reports
- Maintain OSHA logs, training records and safety documentation
- Participate in project meetings, audits and safety reviews
- Enforce PPE, fall protection, electrical safety and equipment requirements
- Exercise stop-work authority when serious hazards are identified
Qualifications
- Two to four years of construction safety experience
- Associate degree in safety, construction management or a related field
- OSHA 30 Construction required
- OSHA 510 required
- Current OSHA 500 Construction Trainer authorization required
- Data center, mission-critical experience required
- Knowledge of OSHA construction standards and common jobsite hazards
- Experience conducting inspections, orientations and incident investigations
- Strong communication, organization and documentation skills
- First Aid, CPR and AED certification preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Must be local to the project location
