**50-60+ hours per week. Overtime may be available based on project needs.

**: W2 contract, project-based assignment, or contract-to-hire depending on client/project.

**Role Summary

**

Pacer Data Center Solutions is hiring Data Center Fiber Technicians to support fiber optic infrastructure installation, routing, termination, testing, and troubleshooting on mission-critical data center projects. Fiber Technicians help build the high-speed connectivity backbone that supports cloud, AI, network, storage, and communication systems.

This role may include working with single-mode and multimode fiber, fiber trunks, patch panels, MPO/MTP connectors, fusion splicing, labeling, testing, and documentation.

**Levels Considered

**

  • Fiber Installer

  • Fiber Technician

  • Senior Fiber Technician

  • Lead Fiber Technician

**Key Responsibilities

**

  • Pull, route, dress, and label fiber optic cable

  • Terminate and/or splice fiber optic connections

  • Install fiber panels, cassettes, enclosures, and patching systems

  • Test fiber using OTDR, power meter, light source, or related equipment

  • Maintain proper bend radius and cable management standards

  • Read fiber diagrams, port maps, cable schedules, and drawings

  • Troubleshoot fiber connectivity and performance issues

  • Support documentation of test results and as-built information

  • Follow data center cleanliness, safety, and quality standards

**Required Experience

**

  • Fiber installation, testing, splicing, or termination experience

  • Familiarity with single-mode and multimode fiber

  • Experience with OTDR or power meter testing preferred

  • Data center, telecom, carrier, or enterprise network experience preferred

  • Fiber certifications preferred

  • Ability to pass client onboarding requirements, which may include background check, drug screen, and site badging

**Preferred Experience

**

  • Fusion splicing experience

  • MPO/MTP connector and data center backbone experience

  • Experience reading fiber diagrams, port maps, and test documentation

**Work Environment and Physical Requirements

**

  • Active data center construction, mission-critical facility, industrial, or technical infrastructure environment

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods in active construction or facility environments

  • May require lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling materials, tools, equipment, ladders, cable, components, or job-site materials; specific lifting requirements vary by role and assignment

  • May require bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching overhead, climbing stairs or ladders, and working from scissor lifts, boom lifts, or other approved lift equipment when authorized

  • May require working around active construction activities, moving equipment, elevated work areas, noise, dust, temperature changes, and other job-site conditions

  • May require use of PPE, tools, and site-specific safety equipment

  • May require overtime, weekends, nights, or rotating schedules depending on project needs
