Ready to be part of a cutting edge growing Cyber Security project that will make a huge impact on the DOD/Intel community? This exciting role as the team's primary Cyber Operations Specialist ensures the architecture for DoD weapons systems, communications platforms, and information systems remain secure. You will use your knowledge and expertise in security best practices, vulnerability analysis, and network defense tactics to review and assess of a wide range of complex weapon systems to identify technical risks within the system's cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will have prior experience and technical skills at the hardware and application layers to help assess documentation, design, test plans, network data/communications, and security event data for fielded systems
Overall Role and duties:
Participate in overall system engineering life-cycle and framework that incorporate mission resiliency against cyber threat and design process. Review and produce technical documentation regarding requirements, analysis, design and strategic recommendations for next steps.
Perform vulnerability research and assessments in order to mitigate possible threats, protect against bad actors, or insider threats, foreign sabotage, international terrorist activities, or to support other intelligence activities.
Provide technical assessments of applications and infrastructure, security design reviews and risk assessments.
Analyze systems to understand system functionality and identify potential defects, vulnerabilities, and inefficiencies.
Perform information security event analysis, network defense tactics and techniques. Knowledge and experience with information network software and hardware. Assess information network threats such as computer viruses, exploits, and malicious attacks.
Work in a team environment to conduct research / analysis of current and emerging Cyber Threats defining requirements, test concepts, test equipment, and data collection requirements for assessments and tests.
Implement solutions to ensure they are consistent with enterprise architecture security policies; Provides planning, policy, requirements, and integration support for cyber capabilities and identifies opportunities for mission enhancement; Researches, designs, develops, and implements proof of concept data protection solutions to address vulnerabilities
5 years experience as a Cyber Operations Specialist on program and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
BS in Computer Science, Cyber security, or other InfoSec disciplines
Knowledge and expertise in security best practices, vulnerability analysis, network defense tactics and techniques
One of the following ( CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA,CISSP, GCED or GCIH)
An ACTIVE TS/SCI with Polygraph
Place of performance is Annapolis Junction or Linthicum, MD, with infrequent travel.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
