Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)

Job Summary
We are seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to support structural MIG welding operations in a high-volume industrial manufacturing plant. Working directly with welding crews and inspecting structural welds to ensure quality and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Inspect structural MIG welds for quality, workmanship, and compliance with specifications.
- Spend the majority of the day on the production floor interacting with welding pits and operators.
- Identify weld defects and work with welders and supervisors to correct issues.
- Interpret welding procedures, blueprints, and inspection requirements.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Support weld quality improvements and help maintain consistent welding standards.
- Perform visual inspections and other required testing methods.
Qualifications
- Current CWI certification required.
- Experience inspecting structural MIG welding preferred.
- Experience in an industrial manufacturing or steel fabrication environment.
- Ability to read blueprints, weld symbols, and welding procedures.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- NDT Level I certification preferred, but not required.
