Description

Sets up, operates, and assists in change over on tube mill tube mill cutoff machine as well as de-dimpling equipment, micrometers, measuring gauges and testing equipment by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The statement below reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the principal functions of the job identified. This shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

Reads mill job order for specifications such as material, type and size of stock, and dimensions of tubing to be cut.

Lubricates tube mill and associated equipment and assists mill operator in mill set up and change over.

Sets up stop guides to control dimensions of cut; set up and operates/adjusts cutoff equipment and de dimpling equipment.

Reads micrometer and other measuring devices and testing equipment.

Performs minor mechanical and/or electrical repairs as required.

Assists in training of new cutoff operators and bundlers.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGESKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole, numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
