Job Description:

The CTL Operator is responsible for cutting wire, cable or conduit to length and delivering it to the proper cell.  Also responsible for the safe operation of department equipment and performing duties in the safest and most efficient manner possible.

Essential Functions:

• Cuts conduit, wire or cable to length and secondary operations
• Delivers orders to proper cells
• Operates lift trucks to move materials
• Maintains department equipment
• Operates equipment and job duties in safest and most efficient manner possible
• Some independent problem solving required when encountering problems with detecting bad products
• Identify materials, read planning blueprints
• Some limited independent decision making involved in determining if a product is defective, charting dimensions and adjusting for problems, inspecting parts and prioritizing daily duties 
• Works respectfully with other team members
• Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned

Required Skills & Knowledge:

• Proficient in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and blueprint reading
• Able to operate Cable Cutter equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent 
• Able to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
• Strong problem solving skills
• Able to raise concerns as needed

Required Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or GED 
• A minimum of six months of related experience and/or training
• Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Technical School training

Special Position Requirements:

• Working near mechanical parts on a daily basis
• Working near fumes or airborne particles and vibrations 

Physical Demands/ Equipment Used to Perform the Job:

• Manual labor job in a manufacturing environment
• Temperature fluctuations on production floor
• Must be able to lift/carry heavy objects up to 70 pounds
• Standing or sitting for long periods of time; walking, stooping and kneeling is required on occasion
• Hand dexterity needed to operate equipment
