Shaw Industries is looking for a Utility Relief to be responsible for relieving all of the other positions within the Department as needed. This requires that the associate possess thorough knowledge and the skills required to perform these jobs.

Responsibilities:

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility:

● Responsible for safe operation of machinery by manipulation of control panel buttons.

● Responsible for proper transfer of product.

● Must determine if product is to be wrapped or taped based on product tickets/labels. This involves reading and comprehension of the labels.

● Must work with other associates to process product..

● Responsible for safe operation of seal bar.

● Responsible for operation of the ram to place the inserts into roll.

● Must ensure that product is properly packaged based on destination.

● Must eject product following wrapping or taping.

● Must adhere to normal work schedule, starting and stopping times and company attendance/tardiness policy.

● Must be able to work necessary overtime.

Non-Essential Duties:

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility:

● Must ensure product is processed accurately.

● Must ensure correct labels are on correct product.

● Must be able to visually identify product defects and process product to ensure Customer quality.

● Must keep work area clean and free of safety hazards

● Ensure that area is properly stocked with materials.

● Use neat, legible handwriting when labeling product.

Physical Requirements:

● Must be able to operate buttons on control panel

● Must be able to extend arms overhead to reach core bins and plastic film

● Must be able to stand and walk continuously and walk frequently for duration of shift

● Must be able to manually operate Dennison gun and Zip Ties.

● Must be able to handle rough backing and latex-based products

● Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

● Must be capable of securing plastic on rolls and securing ticket labels on approximately 50 rolls per hour for entire shift. This involves removing adhesive back from labels and pressing them onto rolls, and involves the use of a Dennison fastener’s trigger-like mechanism.

● Must be able to handle rough backing and latex-based products

Knowledge/Skills:

● Must be able to read and write numbers legibly.

● Must be able to read and comprehend the control panel and tickets

● Must be able to use work station computer to process product.

Tool, Equipment and Material Requirements:

● Safety glasses

● Dennison gun and fasteners

● Printer

● Zip Ties

● Markers, tape and knife

Safety/Training Requirements:

● Must complete required SMS training.

● Must adhere to all corporate and facility safety rules including use of proper PPE for specific job tasks.
