Job Overview:

Customer Support Specialist

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 9-hour days; half-day Fridays
Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Inside Sales Manager

ATACO Steel Products Corp. is seeking a detail-oriented Customer Support Specialist to support our customers and internal sales team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

This role combines customer support, sales operations, data management, and analysis. The Customer Support Specialist helps ensure customer, order, pricing, and sales information is accurate while providing reporting and insights that support business decisions.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with both people and data, has strong attention to detail, and is comfortable partnering with Sales, Estimating, Production, and other departments to keep customer requirements accurate and moving through the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Enter, maintain, and analyze customer, sales, and order information within ERP and CRM systems.
  • Review customer purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Validate pricing, terms, revisions, and margins against customer purchase orders.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in customer, order, and sales information.
  • Maintain accurate and current customer account information.
  • Analyze sales activity, customer trends, margins, and performance data.
  • Compile data and prepare recurring sales and customer reports.
  • Use Excel and other reporting tools to organize, analyze, and present information.
  • Identify trends, inconsistencies, and areas requiring additional review.
  • Assist with data cleanup, system updates, and continuous improvement of data accuracy.
  • Work closely with Sales, Estimating, and Production to support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
  • Maintain organized customer and sales records.
  • Provide additional customer and sales support as business needs arise.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in customer support, sales operations, sales analysis, business analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Excel skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and working with larger data sets.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools is a plus.
  • Experience working with ERP and/or CRM systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and independently investigate issues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position is primarily performed in an office setting within a manufacturing environment. The employee will regularly work at a computer and interact with both office and production employees. Occasional time on the manufacturing floor may be required.

The position requires prolonged sitting and computer use, frequent typing and data entry, occasional standing and walking, and the ability to occasionally lift or carry items weighing up to 10–15 pounds.
