SUMMARY:
• The Quality Engineer will work to ensure products meet customer requirements. This role will develop relationships with the customers to understand their expectations and challenges, and function as the voice of the customer to convey this message to Lincoln Industries. The Quality Engineer will monitor Lincoln Industries’ performance against customer NCM PPM objectives, and then report those findings, as well as coordinating efforts to address deficiencies. The Quality Engineer has the technical background necessary to handle day-to-day quality issues, as well as strong interpersonal skills that will allow them to manage teams that may, or may not, report directly to him/her. The goal is for the customer to have a positive experience. This role will be an advocate for the customer and serve as the organizational conscience in team-based problem solving.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Influence peers and leaders to achieve acceptable customer quality levels. This involves pre and post product launch interaction with Sales and Integration to daily interaction with Customer Service and Operations addressing customer quality issues. Must be able to participate in reviews for manufacturability and design.
• The Quality Engineer is expected to develop working relationships with his/her external customer counterparts.
• Travel up to 20% to improve customer’s experience
• Coordinate with Account Management, Customer Service, Supplier Quality, Operations, and Integration, to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Monitor and report performance against customer quality metrics.
• Take preventive action as necessary to prevent issues. This may require the use of engineering principals and statistical techniques.
• Serve as the voice of the customer to Lincoln Industries. This includes both expectations and actual performance against those expectations.
• Serve as a resource for Integration Engineering and Strategic Accounts for new product launches.
• Participate in the development and submission of PPAP documents for new product launches to meet customer requirements.
• Provide engineering support to Process Control, Operations, and Integration Engineering in the areas of MSA, pFMEA, Control Plans, calibration, inspection, testing, etc.
• Provide engineering support to Operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. This includes analyzing problem areas/processes and identifying and implementing improvements.
• Executing the duties of the position such that the focus is largely proactive versus reactive.
• May be responsible for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001/IATF 16949
• Could potentially come in contact with hazardous chemicals.
• Proper disposal of waste such as recyclables, standard waste, hazardous waste, etc. is expected.
• Any other tasks as required fulfilling Lincoln Industries'' Beliefs and Drivers
QUALIFICATIONS:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and experience required.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a four-year college or university.
• Exception: Non-Engineering Bachelor’s degree AND 5+ years in Manufacturing AND 1+ years in Quality AND Certified Quality Engineer (ASQ)/ Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE)
• A technical aptitude to analyze defects and problem solve driving to root cause
• Able to read engineering prints. Intermediate knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Green Belt certification and ability to use Minitab
Experience
• Experience working in the field of customer service preferred
• Can communicate engineering specifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, suppliers, or internal stakeholders.
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to perform physical functions equivalent to Category E.
