Job Overview:


Job Title: Customer Liaison Engineer

Job Summary:To provid feedback to FGA on quality and inventory at customer locations. Prepare reports that accurately describe defects to the appropriate parties at FGA. Investigate and contain quality issues in a timely manner. Maintain and help improve customer satisfaction through effective communication and professional conduct at all times.

Job Functions:

  • Regular visits to the assigned OEM s, Dealers, and Warranties to collect, analyze, and negotiate rejected parts.   
  • Provide regular quality reports to FGA contact list (Quality, Advanced Quality, Liaison Manager, Sales, etc.)
  • Visit customer to pick up defective products to be returned to FGA for further analysis after receiving notification from the customer
  • Organize containment activities if needed. Attend trial builds and provide detailed information, pictures, and any items to help FGA achieve success.   
  • Represent FGA to attend customer meetings upon request.   
  • Assist customer engineering to help investigate root cause analysis

Qualifications 

  •  English - Ability to read, understand and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership and customers
  • 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)   
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods
  • Duties include turning at the waist, reaching, bending, squatting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Ability to pass static strength requirements (grip)
  • Visual acuity including, but not limited to: 
  • Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Use this factor when special and minute accuracy is demanded
  • Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more. Use this factor when visual efficiency in terms of far acuity is required in day and night/dark conditions
  • Three-dimensional vision. Ability to judge distances and spatial relationships so as to see objects where and as they actually are
  • Ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed work boots
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables
  • Knowledge of and familiarity manufacturing software, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.   
  • Familiar with the FGA manufacturing processes for their customer location's products.   
  • Familiar with the FGA inspection methods of automotive glass
  • Have the ability to problem solve 
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and through reporting
