What does the Custodial Supervisor do?

The Supervisor is responsible for performing custodial duties, supervision of custodial crew(s), scheduling of custodial crew(s), minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe and sanitary manner. The Supervisor reports to the Project Manager/Assistant Project Manager and cares for the facilities. Maintaining these responsibilities will help to ensure the health, safety and security of the public.

What my Role and Responsibilities would be? 

  • Supervises custodial employees in various locations throughout the building – 90% of their time
  • Uses customer service skills, to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, officials and all members of the general public
  • Responsible for organizing, planning, directing, staffing, and controlling the operations of the facility
  • Responsible for maintaining the goals, standards, and objectives of the facility as well as obtaining and maintaining the goals, standards and objectives of the company
  • Coordinates work schedules to ensure timely and effective completion of the maintenance and care of the buildings and offices
  • Coordinates workflow charts on projects to meet short and long-term goals
  • Oversee the ordering of inventory for the facility
  • Supervised of custodial employees in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of all locations, CW Resources Inc. is responsible for the inside of the building.
  • Reprimanding custodial employees when necessary.
  • Completing annual evaluations on custodial employees.
  • Trains supervise and evaluate assigned custodial staff
  • Trains staff in proper chemical and equipment usage and maintenance
  • Responsible for the security of designated locations
  • Keeps records of work completed
  • Conduct NGA Mandatory training
  • Completed and conduct Spartan CompuClean Training
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position
  • Performs custodial duties
  • Performs other duties as needed

What my Essential Duties would be? 

  • Must be able to supervise large teams
  • Must be able to ensure that all duties are performed correctly by the team, and if they are not, then the supervisor is responsible for completing the task
  • Must work to ensure that all policies and processes are being followed.
  • Must be able to fill out all proper paperwork
  • Must be able to properly work all machinery and equipment

What would the preferred knowledge be? 

  • Extensive working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building maintenance
  • Knowledge of proper hazardous chemical disposal
  • Knowledge of floor care and carpet care
  • Knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions

What would the physical demands be? 
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. While performing the duties of this job the incumbent will have to stand and or walk for the majority (75%) of
the shift. The incumbent is required to regularly talk or hear while fulfilling the duties of the job. The incumbent may have to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and push and or pull carts with up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations will be made. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the environment may be very loud.

What would be the background check for this position? 
You'll need to submit to a background check prior to hire and ongoing as the contract says. Must be able to pass criminal and drug screening processes to meet current contract eligibility requirements that apply or become applicable to the contract. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
