Job Overview:

Position Purpose:

The Area Credit Manager is responsible for managing the credit and collection efforts for one of our portfolio companies.    The position will supervise a Credit Specialist and is responsible for meeting internal monthly and annual collection goals while maintaining positive relationships with the customer, sales department, and upper management.  They must gain knowledge of the company operations, internal department dynamics and company policies and procedures. Primary functions include the review and collection of delinquent accounts, the review and approval of credit limits for new and current customers, generating internal collection progress reports, meeting monthly with Branch Managers and updating them on collection efforts, and providing a high level of customer service.  


Essential Job Functions:

 • Oversee UCC filings/terminations on equipment sales ensuring purchase money security interest is timely recorded/released
 • Oversee intercompany accounts receivable ensuring related parties are paying as agreed
 • Oversee the warranty receivable accounts ensuring that claims are cleared in a timely basis
 • Oversee the location COD accounts to ensure adherence to policy and prevent unauthorized receivable balances
 • Oversee the National Accounts and related integrated payment processes
 • Develop and implement process improvements for administrative functions to drive efficiencies
 • Perform root cause analysis and utilize critical thinking to drive performance, process efficiency, and employee development
 • Ensure timely response to requests for W-9’s, ACH/Wire information, and Vendor setup forms
 • Review and approve credit balance refund requests ensuring appropriate documentation proving legitimacy of credit balance
 • Communicate customer accounts that may need to be turned over to Legal for collection of debt owed.
 • Assist with reconciliation of accounts and audit requests for documentation
 • Produce periodic status reports and presentations to management regarding outstanding projects and performance metrics
 • Provide back-up coverage to staff as needed to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements
 • Lead by example in providing high level of customer and internal employee service and communication standards
 • Develop strong relationships with staff and management across multiple companies and departments
 • Ensure month-end close entries are completed so customer statements are sent timely and accurately

 • Review and approve new customer accounts and establish the credit limits and terms set for each customer  
 • Ensure unallocated / unidentified payments are worked so only minimal transactions are unresolved at any given time


Supervisory Responsibilities:

 • Manage credit administration staff and delegate tasks appropriately, including:

•  Provide back-up to the Credit Specialist for various duties as assigned.


Education and/or Experience Requirements:
 • Minimum of five years of credit administration related experience
 • Minimum of three years supervisory experience
 • Demonstrable experience utilizing problem solving, critical thinking, and technology skills to drive performance
 • Experience in mechanic’s liens, lien waivers, UCC’s, and preliminary notices highly preferred
 • Experience assessing credit risk and managing credit lines preferred
 • Experience utilizing integrated lockbox and related payment systems
 • Experience toggling between in-person and remote work environments
 • Ability to lead, mentor, develop, and assess performance of staff
 • Ability to ensure accuracy and auditability of cash application transactions
 • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
 • Ability to resolve disputes in a mature and professional manner
 • Must be able to pass a post job offer drug screen
 • This position requires that the applicant must be screened with a background and MVR check prior to accepting the position
 • Proficient in utilizing computers including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook), Microsoft Internet Explorer and general laptop or desktop computer use
 • Proficient utilizing technology such as Advanced Excel functionality and Power BI business data analytics
 • Display a professional attitude and positive working relationships with co-workers
