Position Summary
The Crane Inspector / Service Technician is responsible for performing repairs, preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, and load testing on overhead bridge cranes, hoists, and various types of material-handling equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair overhead bridge cranes, hoists, and related material-handling equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, installations, inspections, and load testing at customer locations.
- Complete all required service reports and related documentation accurately and promptly.
- Perform all work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with facility maintenance as needed, including mowing, electrical work, snow removal, and general maintenance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1+ year of related experience or training
- Strong electromechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, including three-phase equipment, control-voltage circuits, and variable frequency drives
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide with whole numbers, fractions, decimals)
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to follow detailed instructions and use sound judgment
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, plus ability to learn company software and use an iPad-based service management program
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily
- Availability for evenings/weekends as needed
- Must supply basic hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, electrical tools, etc.)
