Job Description

We are seeking a dependable, customer-focused Counter Sales / Forklift Operator to join our team. This position combines customer service and sales responsibilities with warehouse and forklift operations to support the daily success of our branch.

What You'll Do

Counter Sales Responsibilities

• Assist contractors, utility crews, and walk-in customers with product selection and order fulfillment.
• Process customer orders, quotes, invoices, and payments accurately.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to product, pricing, and availability inquiries.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
• Recommend products and solutions based on customer needs.
• Collaborate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely order completion.

Warehouse & Forklift Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
• Load and unload customer vehicles, delivery trucks, and incoming shipments.
• Pull, stage, and verify orders for accuracy.
• Receive inventory and stock materials in designated locations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report safety concerns.
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

✅ Previous customer service, counter sales, warehouse, or distribution experience preferred

✅ Forklift operating experience required

✅ Forklift certification preferred (or ability to become certified)

✅ Strong communication and organizational skills

✅ Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory/order management systems

✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

✅ Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the workday.
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
