Position Summary

Engage with our counter employee-owners to drive sales and profitability while providing exceptional customer service. Responsible for supporting, coaching, and guiding individuals through our Sales Trainee Program and growth within the organization.

 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for the continuing education of all counter personnel, both internal and external.
    • Review and improve operating policies and procedures. Ensure proper implementation and maintenance of approved changes.
    • Recommend changes for staff members regarding employment, performance ratings, salary changes, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
    • Resolve personnel issues.
    • Support and guide direct reports in more complex phases of their training.
    • Operate within the limits of the annual budget that is composed.
  • Optimize sales and service efforts by ensuring inventory replenishment and stock cart levels of counter area is correct.
  • Assist and coach individuals in our Sales Trainee Program.
  • Meet with manufacturing representatives to discuss new products, promotions, displays, and employee training.
  • Exemplify and drive proactive sales efforts with counter employees and hold them accountable to their goal.
  • Conduct monthly employee sales reviews.
  • Effectively communicate with appropriate internal departments all counter sales events, specials, and promotions.
  • Provide exceptional service to all customers regarding pricing, orders, and information about products on their accounts.
  • Work closely with internal departments, as needed, on special job bids from customers.
  • Maintain 24-hour emergency call list and counter mailing lists.
  • Provide customer training that qualifies to earn Continuing Education Units toward their annual goals.
  • Reconciliation of cash drawer.
  • Assist with cycle counting efforts at the branch.
  • Perform other duties as obvious or assigned.



This is a Safety Sensitive Position

  • May be required to operate powered industrial trucks.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. several times a day, bend, twist, and climb.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal.
  • Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks and collaborate within a multi-functional team.
  • Detail oriented, organized, consistent and tenacious.
  • A team player – work together with others to accomplish common goals of company.
  • Organized with strong time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-starter.
  • Ability to learn our ERP system
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • Customer Service Training/Experience is preferred
  • Lead/Management experience preferred
  • Industry product knowledge beneficial
