Key Responsibilities

Project Cost Estimation and Analysis

• Support the development and recommendations of cost estimates for projects in Dell's multi-year capital plan
• Review, develop, track, and update detailed cost estimates and budgets during project development and design for inclusion in project funding packages
• Compare budget costs to benchmark pricing information, analyze quantities, and scope items
• Review capital plan annually and adjust budget estimates based on market conditions and other factors that impact costs
• Support in developing and maintaining project historical cost benchmark for various project types

Financial Management and Risk Assessment

• Inform risk register and contingency cost allocations regarding known or possible market, pricing, or supply chain events
• Continuously compare and verify actual costs against approved budgets and detailed cost estimates
• Track and report deviations, variances, or risks in project costs
• Provide comparison feedback to project management and Dell Real Estate teams

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Interact and collaborate with various internal and external clients, stakeholders, internal service providers, project managers, and vendors during development of ROM and detailed budgets
• Build rapport with Dell's Real Estate team, internal service providers, design partners, and contractors
• Create and adhere to standard cadence of check-ins with internal and external stakeholders
• Function as SME and consultant assisting with cost monitoring, solutioning, value engineering, vendor proposal and bid evaluation, and closeout reconciliation

Market Intelligence and Reporting

• Maintain understanding and impacts of market conditions in Dell's territories
• Stay updated on industry best practices and market trends
• Review and provide reporting and analysis on year over year market changes and costs of work for each State or major market within Dell's territories
• Prioritize requests to meet or exceed Dell's expectations

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Accounting, Business, Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
• 5-10 years of construction, estimating or project controls experience
• Knowledge of industry standards and market conditions, costs, and cost databases
• Strong analytical skills and mathematical abilities
• Ability to work and communicate effectively within cross-functional teams
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Proficiency in estimating software and spreadsheets

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
• Professional certification in cost estimating (e.g., CCE, CPE)
• Experience working with enterprise clients in the technology sector
• Experience with construction cost management in multiple states/regions
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and associated costs

• Team collaboration abilities, particularly with geographically dispersed stakeholders
• Adaptability and sense of urgency
