Position Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will be responsible for all inventory costing accounting functions. This role will include production cost reporting and measurement, analysis of key costing metrics and their impacts on the profits and losses, regularly communicating with production teams and plant leadership.
Essential Functions:
Assist in the development and analysis of cost standards.
Develop inventory analysis reports and analyze adjustments.
Process and finalize daily production work orders and partner with production teams to investigate and resolve daily variances using daily production variance reporting.
Organize and conduct tests of labor and other costing standards
Verifying and analyzing standard costs (Bills of Materials)
Analyzing changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to determine effects
Analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Uploading updated costs into the master inventory system
Create formula codes for all products / recipes
Present issues regarding production costs vs sell price to the business
Balance sales margin vs production variances
Inform management of negative sales margin codes and new codes to determine pricing.
Collect Yield Testing for new product codes and updating existing ones
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Self-starter that is detail oriented;
Strong computer knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets;
Ability to analyze information and draw conclusions;
Ability to handle matters of a confidential nature.
Minimum Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent training and experience, plus two or more years of experience in Cost Accounting required. Experience in a Manufacturing environment is preferred, experience working with manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
