Corporate Production Planner/Scheduler

Location: Johnson Creek and Milwaukee, WI
Employment Type: Full-time, on-site with regular travel between facilities
Reports To: Director of Operations
Pay Range: $80,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience, plus eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus


Position Overview

Saelens is a growing precision manufacturing company seeking a Corporate Production Planner/Scheduler to coordinate production schedules across our Milwaukee and Johnson Creek facilities. This position will determine when and where jobs should run, balance production capacity, and coordinate with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, Engineering, and Quality. This role will be critical to supporting customer commitments, efficient equipment utilization, and the company’s continued growth.


Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain production schedules for both manufacturing facilities. 

· Assign jobs to machines based on capacity, capabilities, tooling, labor, materials, and customer requirements. 

· Evaluate short- and long-term capacity needs and balance workloads between facilities. 

· Partner with Sales and Customer Service to review forecasts, customer demand, order priorities, and delivery commitments. 

· Coordinate with Purchasing to confirm that castings, components, tooling, and other required materials are available. 

· Work closely with Operations Managers and Production Supervisors to monitor progress and adjust schedules as conditions change. 

· Identify scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, material shortages, and capacity constraints and communicate risks promptly. 

· Facilitate cross-functional planning meetings to align priorities and resolve scheduling constraints. 

· Maintain accurate planning and scheduling information within the company’s ERP system. 

· Track schedule adherence, backlog, capacity utilization, and delivery performance. 

· Support continuous improvement of production flow, scheduling processes, system data, and reporting. 

· Assist with the implementation and development of ERP planning and scheduling tools.

Requirements

Qualifications

· Three or more years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment. 

· Experience scheduling across multiple machines, departments, or facilities preferred. 

· Understanding of manufacturing capacity, workflow, lead times, and production constraints. 

· ERP or MRP experience required; Epicor experience is a plus. 

· Strong Microsoft Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

· Ability to manage competing priorities and make timely scheduling decisions. 

· Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 

· CNC machining or precision manufacturing experience strongly preferred. 

· Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. 

· Valid driver’s license and ability to travel regularly between Milwaukee and Johnson Creek.
