We are looking for a Corporate FSS Senior Accountant to support our team at our corporate location in Cincinnati, OH.
Position Overview: This position reports directly to the Director, Financial Shared Services (FSS). The Senior Accountant supports standard daily accounting activities, the month-end close process, and preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”) by adhering to the timelines of the daily and weekly transactional protocols and the monthly close cycle, strong internal controls over financial reporting, and all corporate financial policies and practices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports the Director, Financial Shared Services and Vice President of Accounting with the integrity of recorded transactions and the reported financial results of the company. To ensure reported financial results adhere to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (“GAAP”);
- Responsible for compensation accounting including wage, statutory tax and benefit transactional entries, accruals and reconciliations;
- Responsible for the preparation of account reconciliations of the various general ledger accounts utilizing the Blackline reconciliation tool;
- Responsible for, supports and coordinates various month-end close activities including the adherence to strict close related deadlines;
- Assists with intercompany accounting transactions and reconciliations;
- Assist with the maintenance of the Company’s Fixed Asset Accounting which includes the updating and managing the Fixed Asset database from a book and tax perspective and supporting the Corporate Tax Director with schedule preparation and analysis;
- May assist with the preparation of the Consolidated Financial Statements and month-end reporting packages of LSI Industries Inc.;
- Will serve as one of the points of contact between corporate accounting, the various accounting teams throughout the Company, the Financial Planning & Analysis team, and other operational business partners, regarding various accounting and financial information requirements and data gathering;
- Will support the Financial Shared Services function to implement cross-functional and cross-departmental process automation and standardization improvements;
- Serve as a point of contact for external auditors and the preparation of schedules required to support the quarterly reviews and annual audits;
- Assist with the remediation of gaps in internal control identified by either internal audit or the company’s external auditors that could directly or indirectly impact the integrity of the company’s reported financial statements. Monitor the application of appropriate internal controls along with Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2003 (“SOX”) compliance;
- Assist with monitoring and the remediation of issues that arise with the company’s ERP system (JD Edwards) that directly or indirectly impact Finance policies, procedures and processes;
- Supports the preparation and filing, where appropriate, of various SEC filings such as but not limited to the Forms 10-Q and 10-K;
- Assists the Director, Financial Shared Services and Vice President of Accounting with various special projects and initiatives.

Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting required
- Payroll and benefit accounting experience required
- Fixed asset accounting experience required
- Experience in a Financial Shared Services environment preferred, but not required
- Manufacturing environment experience, a Plus
- At least ten years of experience in accounting roles of increasing responsibility
- Experience with ERP operating software, preferably JD Edwards or Oracle operating systems, a Plus
- An active CPA license and experience preparing financial statements for a publicly traded company preferred but not required.
- Public Accounting Experience, a Plus
- Excellent Excel spreadsheet skills required.
- Flowcharting and process documentation experience, a Plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
