Chemours is seeking a(n) Corporate Accounting Intern. to join our Controllership team! This position will report directly to the Financial Reporting Manager.

The Corporate Accounting Intern will assist the various Controllership teams with day-to-day activities and special projects. This will include contributing to the month-end close process, quarter-end financial reporting process, and general global accounting processes. The Corporate Accounting Intern will gain exposure to the External Reporting, Close and Consolidations, Accounting Policy, and Internal Controls teams throughout the course of the program.

Location: Wilmington, DE

Hours: Regular full-time schedule of 40 hours per week

Term: 3-month assignment between May-August 2023 (i.e. 3-month assignment between May-August)

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supporting teams within the Controllership function to perform various month-end and quarter-end close accounting and reporting activities

  • Contributing to the issuance of quarterly external financial statements

  • Researching relevant guidance for appropriate treatment of accounting matters

  • Supporting the review of the Company’s documentation of internal controls and making appropriate updates to the control environment

  • Interacting with a cross-functional team that includes Controllership, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Assurance Services, and others, to identify opportunities to improve accounting processes

  • Assisting in various administrative tasks and responsibilities assigned by the Controllership team such as updates of procedures documentation

  • Gaining a deeper understanding of the Corporate Accounting and Finance functions of a publicly traded company

The following is required for this role:

  • Enrollment at an accredited college or university as a sophomore or above at time of assignment

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance related major

The following is preferred for this role:

  • 3.0 GPA or above
