Job Summary: The Maintenance Coordinator - Underground is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating maintenance activities in underground facilities. This role ensures the efficient operation of equipment, adherence to safety standards, and timely completion of maintenance tasks. The Maintenance Coordinator collaborates with maintenance management teams, supervisors, and other relevant departments to optimize underground maintenance processes.

Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning:

Develop and implement maintenance schedules for underground equipment, machinery, and infrastructure.

Coordinate with maintenance teams to prioritize tasks based on equipment criticality and operational requirements.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with maintenance teams to communicate priorities, deadlines, and specific maintenance requirements.

Provide technical guidance and support to maintenance personnel.

Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.

Equipment Inspection and Troubleshooting:

Conduct regular inspections of underground equipment to identify potential issues.

Collaborate with maintenance teams to diagnose and troubleshoot problems.

Implement preventive maintenance measures to reduce downtime.

Budget Management:

Assist in developing and managing the maintenance budget for underground operations.

Monitor expenditures and ensure cost-effective maintenance practices.

Documentation and Reporting:

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and equipment performance.

Generate reports on maintenance KPIs, equipment reliability, and compliance.

Safety Compliance:

Enforce safety protocols and ensure that maintenance activities comply with relevant safety regulations.

Conduct safety training for maintenance personnel and promote a safety-first culture.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field is preferred 10 years minimum experience in maintenance leadership and coordination, preferably in underground operations. Strong knowledge of underground equipment, machinery, and maintenance best practices. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and challenging underground environment.
