We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Shift Lead to oversee and coordinate our inventory operations during 2nd shift, Monday - Friday. The ideal candidate will ensure inventory accuracy, lead and train team members, troubleshoot discrepancies, and uphold compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct cycle counts and location audits within cooler and freezer environments; track stock movements, lot codes, and date-sensitive inventory to maintain accurate inventory levels and FIFO compliance.
  • Direct, train, and assist inventory personnel working in cold storage areas, ensuring efficient workflow, safe work practices, and adherence to company policies.
  • Use the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor cold-storage inventory levels, complete inventory transactions, generate reports, and update records in real time.
  • Monitor and improve inventory handling processes within cooler and freezer operations, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), food safety, and quality standards.
  • Verify received and stored inventory in cooler and freezer areas for accuracy, proper labeling, temperature compliance, and product condition; identify and address damage or discrepancies.
  • Ensure safe and proper use of inventory equipment, including RF scanners and powered industrial equipment, within cold storage environments; enforce safety regulations and maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory variances related to cold storage operations, collaborating with warehouse and operations teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Complete required inventory and variance reports, maintain accurate documentation, and communicate inventory updates and concerns to management.
  • Secure inventory equipment and cold storage areas, perform general housekeeping, and complete all required paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform other inventory-related duties as assigned.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Ability to meet productivity, accuracy, and safety standards.
  • Must be able to work assigned schedules, including required overtime and occasional weekends.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

1-2 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment

Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position

Able to work in a multi-temperature environment (dry, cooler, freezer)

Must be able to stand, walk, reach and lift repeatedly throughout shift

Able to lift and stack product between 10-35 pounds and up to 80 pounds occasionally throughout shift

Pass pre-employment drug test

Basic computer skills to include MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

2-4 years of warehouse and/or distribution environment using forklift and/or pallet jack

Team Lead experience

Administrative support work experience

Warehouse systems experience i.e. Voxware, scanning, AS400, formula based pay plans

Foodservice distribution or related industry experience

OSHA Forklift operator certificate
