Die Cutting SupervisorLocation: Niles, ILShift: 3rd Shift | 9:45 PM – 6:30 AMSalary: $70,000–$90,000+ (up to $110,000 for highly qualified candidates)Job Type: Full-Time | Direct HirePosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on Die Cutting Supervisor to lead 2nd shift operations within a high-speed, high-volume converting environment. This individual will oversee die cutting operations, troubleshoot equipment, support operators, and drive improvements in production efficiency, quality, safety, and overall process performance.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in folding carton manufacturing and hands-on die cutting, along with the ability to lead and develop a team on the production floor.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise 2nd shift die cutting operations.Supervise approximately 18–20 operators and die cutters.Conduct daily meetings to review production schedules and priorities.Troubleshoot die cutting equipment and production issues.Provide hands-on technical support to machine operators.Monitor production quality, efficiency, and customer specifications.Improve setup and changeover times.Drive Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives.Partner with production, quality, maintenance, and other supervisors to resolve issues.Coach, develop, and support employees on the production floor.Help ensure customer deadlines and production goals are consistently met.QualificationsRequired:5+ years of folding carton die cutting experience.5+ years of experience in a high-speed, high-volume manufacturing environment.Strong hands-on experience with die cutting equipment and troubleshooting.Experience leading, coaching, or developing production operators.Strong understanding of quality, accuracy, and customer specifications.Ability to troubleshoot production issues and work cross-functionally to resolve problems.Strong communication and leadership skills.Spanish/English bilingual ability required.Comfortable working directly with operators in a hands-on production environment.Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement.Preferred:Folding carton manufacturing experience.Experience with BOBST, Heidelberg, Jagenberg, or similar converting equipment.Experience with blanking, foil stamping, embossing, or other secondary converting processes.Experience with SBS board stock and folding carton materials.Premium or custom packaging experience.Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.Previous Supervisor, Lead, or Senior Operator experience.Ideal CandidateWe are looking for a hands-on technical leader and problem solver who is comfortable being on the production floor and working directly with operators.
