Controls Technician - 3rd ShiftJob Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial control systems and equipment to ensure optimal production efficiency at our manufacturing facility.Job Description:
* Perform routine preventative maintenance on PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servos, and other automated control systems.
* Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and software-related issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
* Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify problems and implement solutions.
* Calibrate and adjust sensors, actuators, and other control devices to meet operational specifications.
* Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and control systems.
* Document maintenance activities, repairs, and system modifications accurately.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
* Provide technical support and training to production personnel as needed.
Required Skills and Education
Education
* Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Minimum of 2 - 5 years of experience in a controls technician role within a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
* Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, including PLCs (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and ladder logic.
* Experience with motor control circuits, VFDs, and servo drives.
* Solid understanding of sensors, transducers, and industrial instrumentation.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, as required.
