Controls Technician
Location: Grand Ledge, MI
Pay: $22-$28/hour

Position Overview
We are seeking a Controls Technician to join a growing team in Grand Ledge, MI. This role is ideal for someone with experience in industrial controls, electrical wiring, and PLC troubleshooting. You'll work on machine wiring, controls integration, troubleshooting, and support for automated equipment. Travel opportunities are available as you gain experience

Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, modify, and support PLC and HMI systems.
- Wire industrial machinery according to electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Read and interpret electrical prints, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
- Assist with machine startup, testing, and commissioning.
- Support equipment maintenance and continuous improvement efforts.
- Travel 25-50% as needed after training.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience troubleshooting and modifying PLCs and HMIs.
- Experience wiring industrial machinery or control panels.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and industry standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Basic math skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Experience programming or troubleshooting industrial robots.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, bend, and use hands throughout the workday.
- Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, electrical equipment, and varying temperatures.
- Must have close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
