Job Description

One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a skilled Controls Technician to support the reliability, maintenance and optimization of automated production systems at their Ann Arbor, MI facility.

**Pay Rate: **$75k-$90k

**Shift: **Afternoon shift

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems

• Diagnose electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize production downtime

• Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation equipment

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation

• Install, wire, test, and commission electrical control panels, sensors, motors, and instrumentation devices

• Support automation upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures

• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and complete work orders using CMMS software

Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years as a Controls Technician.

• Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting, HMI systems, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and industrial electrical systems

• Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and electrical control circuits

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical drawings
