One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a skilled Controls Technician to support the reliability, maintenance and optimization of automated production systems at their Ann Arbor, MI facility.
**Pay Rate: **$75k-$90k
**Shift: **Afternoon shift
Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain PLC-controlled manufacturing equipment and automation systems
Diagnose electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to minimize production downtime
Program, modify, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, and industrial control systems
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical and automation equipment
Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, ladder logic, and technical documentation
Install, wire, test, and commission electrical control panels, sensors, motors, and instrumentation devices
Support automation upgrades, equipment installations, and capital improvement projects
Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring equipment failures
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and complete work orders using CMMS software
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years as a Controls Technician.
Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting, HMI systems, VFDs, motor controls, sensors, and industrial electrical systems
Experience troubleshooting automated production equipment and electrical control circuits
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic, and technical drawings
