Description
CLX Engineering’s Controls Field Technician II is an advanced industrial electrical technician. Field Tech II is becoming proficient in concepts of controls systems and demonstrates the ability to efficiently support troubleshooting and commissioning with Integration Engineers at client sites and during project completions. Field Tech IIs are required to travel to clients and work with some independence trouble shooting and commissioning tasks, specifically using PLC systems such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Beckhoff. Candidates who have some knowledge or applied experience with vision systems as the key components of industrial automation work using cameras and sensors to capture and analyze visual data in real-time will have an edge over others.
Ideal candidates are comfortable working in high pressure situations and interact with both external and internal customers to support the efficient resolution of problems. Field Tech IIs must be able to work effectively with more experienced engineers and communicate efficiently with all project stakeholders to ensure the smooth completion of short- and long-term projects.
For this role, ideal candidates will live in daily commuting distance to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Although some tasks may range from basic PLC programming to electrical troubleshooting, the client we work for is technology driven and work will never be routine. The position works in often hot, cold, and dirty work environments and physical requirements can include ascending slip or ship ladders, navigating obstacles, operating in low light, and occasionally maneuvering through confined spaces.
Controls Field Technician IIs are non-exempt level, hourly paid positions reporting directly to the Sr. Program Manager. An essential function of the position is working non-traditional work hours, normally from ~4:00 AM to ~2:00 PM with occasional variation and/or overtime requirements.
