Job Title: Controls Engineer

Locations: Wixom, MI (Shop) & Romulus, MI (Plant Installation)

Duration: Contract through year-end (potential to extend based on upcoming projects)

Schedule: Typically 6–7 days/week; must be available for 2nd shift and holiday work (including Christmas shutdown)

Travel: Local contract; no per diem/travel expenses provided

Overview

Seeking a Controls Engineer with a strong Siemens PLC background to support machine build, integration, and commissioning

. The role will start with shop debug in Wixom, MI, and follow the equipment to on-site installation and support in Romulus, MI

.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform PLC programming, debugging, and line integration using Siemens platforms

  .

• Configure and troubleshoot HMI / PanelView interfaces

  .

• Provide active shop-floor and field support during machine install, runoffs, and commissioning

  .

• Support operations on 2nd shift and work through critical year-end shutdown/holiday schedules

  .

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (specifically Siemens TIA Portal V15.1 and S7-1500 processors)

  .

• Experience configuring and troubleshooting PanelView / HMIs

  .

• Automotive manufacturing background; GM Powertrain (SiFACS) standards experience is highly preferred

  .

• Willingness and availability to work 6–7 days per week, 2nd shift, and over the upcoming holiday periods
