JOB SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a Controls Engineer- Automated Trailer Fill based out of the Irving, TX office to modernize and support our cryogenic trailer filling operations. In this role, you will write original PLC/SCADA automation logic for the ATLAS platform and troubleshoot complex system issues. You will be responsible for implementing critical process safety controls, optimizing plant productivity KPIs, and integrating the specialized analysis and automated documentation required for bulk liquid medical gas shipments.

 

 

Essential Functions

Essential Function

·         Design and write new, standardized PLC and SCADA automation logic for the ATLAS platform to upgrade and fully automate legacy trailer loading facilities.

·         Provide advanced engineering support for automated fill zone control systems, rapidly diagnosing and troubleshooting complex logic, instrument, or hardware anomalies to minimize trailer loading disruptions.

·         Lead local root-cause investigations into control system failures or operational anomalies, implementing approved corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).

·         Integrate critical process safety controls and emergency shutdown logic within the trailer loading automation architectures to actively minimize operational incidents and process risk.

·         Optimize trailer loading operations to hit key performance indicators (KPIs), focusing on maximizing system uptime, reducing product venting losses, optimizing loading times, and maximizing loading capacities.

·         Integrate specialized analytical testing instrumentation within the automated fill logic to ensure product purities are analyzed correctly, strictly meeting FDA current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), medical product regulations, and specific customer purity requirements.

·         Program and maintain the automated reporting structures within ATLAS to reliably generate the compliant shipping documentation, certificates of analysis (COA), and tracking paperwork mandated for medical gas transport.

·         Enforce strict MOC protocols for all local trailer loading control system modifications, executing rigorous pre-commissioning safety reviews, risk assessments, and software validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) before any logic changes go live.

·         Partner closely with plant operations, quality assurance, logistics, distribution, and engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and smooth bulk liquid medical shipping.
