Company Overview

We are partnering with a growing automation-focused engineering company seeking an experienced Industrial Vision Controls Engineer to support advanced motion control and industrial automation projects. This role will support highly automated equipment involving servo systems, machine vision integration, motion control, PLC programming, and electrical system design within a fast-paced engineering environment.

Position Overview

This role is ideal for a hands-on Controls Engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept through commissioning. The engineer will support design, programming, integration, startup, troubleshooting, and optimization of advanced industrial automation systems used in manufacturing and material handling environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience programming PLCs from scratch, integrating vision systems, supporting servo/motion applications, and commissioning automated machinery. This is a smaller engineering environment, so the role requires someone comfortable wearing multiple hats across controls engineering and system integration activities.

  • Support electrical design activities including schematics, control drawings, and CAD documentation
  • Optimize machine performance, reliability, throughput, and cycle times
  • Troubleshoot automation systems and support field service or customer startup activities as needed
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and field teams on new equipment development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support industrial networking and communication protocols including EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, and Profinet
  • Ensure systems comply with electrical and machine safety standards
