 General Kinematics is the premier manufacturer of vibrating equipment for the processing of bulk materials. From vibratory feeders to entire process systems, General Kinematics creates the solutions customers require to process even the most difficult materials. 


 We are currently looking for a qualified Controls/Electrical Engineer to join our team and apply electrical design knowledge, PLC programming skills, industrial interface design ability, technical writing experience, and overall communication ability to aid in the development of industrial projects for multiple industries.

  

Job Responsibilities

  

  •  Provide controls/electrical engineering expertise to complete a project from development to commissioning, accompanying field service to customer sites for installation, operation, and process qualification. 
  • Accompany sales personnel to conduct field assessments and/or attend customer meetings.
  • Provide support & guidance to other departments; manufacturing, production, design engineering, customer service, field service, through the life of a project. 
  • Provide technical expertise in electrical/controls engineering to develop industrial control systems for various General Kinematics Inc. serviced industries.
  • Work across multiple teams (sales, design, production, field service support, suppliers and end customers) throughout lifecycle of project and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Support production and field service by troubleshooting production and field issues accurately and timely. 
  • Support controls team members with project execution sharing expertise to develop solutions.
  • Document technical details of projects to produce operational manuals and communicate project status interdepartmentally as well as with customers.
  • Fully support the Company’s ISO objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Participate in Standard Development.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent is required. 
  • +2 years of experience programming Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and HMIs.
  • 2-5 years of experience in an OEM manufacturing environment is preferred but not required. 
  • Able to decipher PLC code for troubleshooting purposes. Proven troubleshooting & programming track record.
  • Able to design efficient HMI interfaces.
  • Experience in selecting and configuring ABB and Allen Bradley VFDs.
  • Ability to create and modify AutoCAD electrical drawings for industrial controls.
  • Proficiency in reading, designing, and troubleshooting electrical schematic diagrams. 
  • Experience using, programming, and troubleshooting common industrial sensors and devices.
  • Familiarity with basic networking and industrial communication protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. 

  

Pay: 70K to 80K paid annually. The range provided is a guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Other factors that are involved in offer decisions include, and are not limited to a candidate’s experience, qualifications, geography, and internal equity.
