A growing industrial organization is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to support and enhance manufacturing operations through expert-level PLC programming, troubleshooting, and industrial data integration. This role emphasizes Siemens PLC systems and SQL database development to drive process improvements, automation, and real-time data analytics.

Program, troubleshoot, and maintain Siemens-based automation systems (S7-1200, S7-1500, TIA Portal, Step 7, WinCC).
Enhance PLC and HMI/SCADA systems for reliability and process efficiency.
Design and implement SQL databases for real-time data collection and analysis.
Apply data-driven insights to optimize performance and resolve issues.
Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate automation systems with MES platforms and enterprise data systems.
Utilize protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus, and Profinet for system communication.
Perform diagnostics and root cause analysis for automation-related issues.
Support IIoT and smart manufacturing initiatives and infrastructure.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation including schematics and ladder logic diagrams.
Ensure compliance with safety, industry standards, and cybersecurity best practices.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related technical field.
At least 2 years of hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial automation.
Expertise in Siemens PLC platforms and HMI development.
Proficiency with SQL databases and structured data systems.
Familiarity with SCADA systems, automation protocols, and networking.
Experience in data analytics and applying insights to manufacturing systems.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple technical projects.
Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or SQL scripting.
Experience with Plex MES or comparable systems.
Exposure to cloud-based data platforms and IIoT technologies.
Siemens or equivalent industry certifications are a plus.
Combination of office and manufacturing floor environments.
Frequent standing and tool use when evaluating equipment.
Prolonged computer use at a desk.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Visual acuity for equipment inspection and digital interfaces.
Use of PPE as required in manufacturing areas.
