Job Title: Controller (Growth Path to Director/Senior Director of Finance)

Salary Range: $140,000 – $180,000

Role Summary:
An established and growing organization in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This position offers a defined growth path to Director and Senior Director of Finance, providing long-term advancement within a stable, people-focused business that values collaboration and excellence. The ideal candidate will be both detail-oriented and strategic, managing day-to-day accounting while contributing to forecasting, planning, and future growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger management
Lead financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and forecasting in compliance with GAAP
Partner with senior leadership on financial strategy, planning, and performance analysis
Manage and develop a team of accounting and payroll professionals
Strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and modernize accounting systems
Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements to executive leadership
Support company expansion, including evaluating new markets and investment opportunities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
CPA strongly preferred; candidates eligible or actively pursuing CPA will also be considered
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership
Experience in multi-location operations; retail, grocery, or manufacturing preferred
Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
Experience with accounting and payroll systems such as ADP or UKG a plus
Collaborative leadership style with strong communication and analytical skills
Compensation & Growth:
Base salary: $140,000 – $180,000, depending on experience
