Job Title: Controller (Growth Path to Director/Senior Director of Finance)

Location: Greater Seattle Area

Salary Range: $140,000 – $180,000

Work Type: Full-time, Onsite

Role Summary:

An established and growing organization in the Greater Seattle area is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This position offers a defined growth path to Director and Senior Director of Finance, providing long-term advancement within a stable, people-focused business that values collaboration and excellence. The ideal candidate will be both detail-oriented and strategic, managing day-to-day accounting while contributing to forecasting, planning, and future growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger management

• Lead financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and forecasting in compliance with GAAP

• Partner with senior leadership on financial strategy, planning, and performance analysis

• Manage and develop a team of accounting and payroll professionals

• Strengthen internal controls, streamline processes, and modernize accounting systems

• Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements to executive leadership

• Support company expansion, including evaluating new markets and investment opportunities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

• CPA strongly preferred; candidates eligible or actively pursuing CPA will also be considered

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in leadership

• Experience in multi-location operations; retail, grocery, or manufacturing preferred

• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls

• Experience with accounting and payroll systems such as ADP or UKG a plus

• Collaborative leadership style with strong communication and analytical skills

Compensation & Growth:

• Base salary: $140,000 – $180,000, depending on experience
