Description

      

We are seeking a highly skilled Control System Specialist to support automation, process control, and industrial digitalization projects within the refining, petrochemical, and energy industries. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support of Honeywell branded Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. This role will work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to deliver reliable, safe, and efficient automation solutions.

  

  • Design, configure, test, and commission industrial automation and control systems. 
  • Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC logic, HMI applications, and SCADA systems. 
  • Configure and support DCS platforms for process control applications. 
  • Perform factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), startup, and commissioning activities. 
  • Develop control narratives, functional specifications, cause-and-effect matrices, and system documentation. 
  • Troubleshoot control system issues, communication networks, field instrumentation, and operator interfaces. 
  • Integrate PLC, DCS, SCADA, historians, and third-party systems using industry standard communication protocols. 
  • Support cybersecurity, system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with process, electrical, instrumentation, and operations personnel to improve system reliability and performance. 
  • Provide technical support   during project execution and plant startup activities. 
  • Travel to customer sites as required for commissioning, troubleshooting, and support.

 

 Required Skills and Competencies 

 

  • Strong experience with industrial automation and process control systems from Honeywell (REQUIRED)
  • Hands-on experience with:  Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers, (PLC) Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) and SCADA Systems.
  • Experience programming, configuring, and troubleshooting PLC platforms. 
  • Experience configuring operator graphics, alarms, trends, and control strategies. 
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols including Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, OPC, and   related networking technologies. 
  • Ability to read and develop P&IDs, loop diagrams, control narratives, and electrical   drawings. 
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills. 
  • Knowledge of ISA, IEC, NEC, and cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems. 
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and customer-facing skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced engineering environment.

 Required Experience & Education 

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial automation and control systems. 
  • Demonstrated experience supporting DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA platforms from Honeywell in industrial   manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, LNG, or related process industries. (REQUIRED)
  • ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) or ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP). 
  • Relevant vendor certifications in industrial control systems. 


 Physical Requirements 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk.
  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking. 
  • Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling. 
  • Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing, pulling bending, and crouching. 
  • Some lifting (up to 30 lbs.). Long hours on computer keyboard.
