Control Room Supervisor (Instrument & Control)

KBR’s Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Control Room Supervisor (Instrument & Control) to support the multi-billion-dollar Plaquemines project developing a Liquid Natural Gas export facility when fully developed will have an export capacity of up to 20 million metric tonnes per year. The facility’s location is about 20 miles south of New Orleans. This project is expected to be a multi-phase project spanning two years.

Aligning with KBR’s commitment to sustainability, the 630-acre site located on the Mississippi River provides deep-water access without the need for dredging, allowing for an expedited environmentally friendly development process.

This position is contingent upon having a current/valid TWIC card or having the ability to renew or obtain a TWIC card. The TWIC card must be kept current and maintained through employment.

The Control Room Supervisor (Instrument & Control) will oversee and direct the Control Room personnel during the Pre-Commissioning and Commissioning loop checking and testing activities. This role will support the development of pre-commissioning and commissioning dossiers and then once the systems are online, monitor the completion of those dossiers, ensuring the completion is accurately recorded on ITRs, completion certificates, Red-Line Mark-Ups, punch lists. The Control Room Supervisor (Instrument & Control) will report to the Instrument & Control CSU Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with board operators and client process team to ensure effective testing
  • Assist with overseeing the testing of safety related control systems, including Fire & Gas, FACPs, ESD, SIL and SIF Loops, Cause and Effect testing will form part of this requirement
  • Instruct & direct Instrument technicians to accomplish loop checks required to handover the various systems and sub-systems for the project to enable Substantial Completion / RFSU: this will include ensuring that the Co-Console electronic completion system is correctly completed and that the Clients representatives approve sign-off
  • Participate in regular progress and co-ordination meetings with Client and Contractors
  • Ensure the effective sign off of control system testing generated punch lists

Experience & Skills:

  • Must have experience of a large Scale ICSS operation, Ideally Honeywell but other control systems experience will be equally considered
  • Proficient computer skills using MS Office: ability to access databases, extract data and be able to create reports
  • Previous use of an electronic completion system such as CoConsole or WinPCS an advantage

Additional Qualifications:

  • In lieu of formal education 13 + years of relevant experience including 5 + years of experience within the LNG industry
  • Or bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field and 5 + years of relevant field experience within the LNG industry with average experience ranging from 6-10 years
