As a Control Panel Shop Lead, you will contribute to the success of our organization by leading and managing assigned customer projects. You will be held accountable for providing an exceptional customer experience, ensuring timely completion of projects and that quality standards are met.
Essential Functions:
- Lead and motivate a team of Assemblers and Technicians for assigned projects.
- Act as liaison between the customer and Production team for assigned projects.
- Ensure consistent quality across projects and manage projects within estimated hours.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our projects to meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Manage and track resources to ensure project is on track to meet due date.
- Review Bill of Materials (BOM) for accuracy prior to releasing to purchasing.
- Identify issues with assigned projects and propose solutions.
- Escalate quality concerns or issues to the Technical Quality Lead and/or customer.
- Escalate manpower needs to the Production Manager.
- Escalate material concerns or issues to the Purchasing department and/or Production Manager.
- Evaluate effectiveness of cell based 6S on a weekly basis.
- Improve quality of work and personal productivity on a continuous basis.
- Conduct field service work at customer locations (travel up to 15% of the time).
- Follow and comply with all safety protocols, work regulations and 6S guidelines.
- Maintain reliable and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in building and wiring industrial control panels.
- Must be able to read and interpret electrical schematics.
- Must hold valid driver’s license with ability to travel to other work locations.
- Demonstrate computer literacy, to include use of Microsoft Outlook.
Preferred Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements:
- 2 year degree in automation or electrical related field.
- Previous experience in working in a lean manufacturing environment.

Work Environment:
Work environment is light industrial, with exposure to a moderate level of noise. Daily operations in work environment includes the use of basic power tools, hand tools, and repetitive hand motion in manipulating electrical wires. Sitting, standing, and bending at waist for up to 3 consecutive hours at time. May need to reach above shoulder height for extended periods of time. May be exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Must be able to climb stairs, move freely between aisles of parts, equipment, shelving units. Must be able to carry or lift at least 40 pounds.
