An established industrial automation and controls engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Panel Assembly Electrician to join their shop team. This company designs, builds, and integrates custom electrical control systems for OEM and industrial manufacturing clients across a variety of industries.
This role is ideal for a hands-on electrical professional with experience assembling and wiring industrial control panels who takes pride in clean workmanship, strong attention to detail, and reliable production output.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical control panels and systems by installing components, subassemblies, and wiring to UL 508A standards
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and assembly instructions
- Perform point-to-point wiring and panel layout for industrial control systems
- Maintain clean wiring practices, including labeling, cable management, and organized panel builds
- Conduct basic electrical testing including continuity checks, multimeter use, and power-up verification
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment during panel assembly
- Assist with mechanical assembly tasks, including drilling/tapping panels, mounting hardware, and cutting DIN rail and wire duct
- Record production data such as labor hours and materials used within the company’s ERP system
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and equipment
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of electrical assembly or control panel wiring experience
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Experience assembling and wiring industrial control panels
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
- Comfortable working in a hands-on production/shop environment
Preferred Experience
- Experience commissioning or wiring industrial control systems
- Exposure to PLC, HMI, servo, or VFD wiring
- Familiarity with UL 508A panel standards
- Experience working with industrial automation equipment or machinery
- Experience assembling aluminum extrusion structures (ITEM, Bosch, etc.) is a plus
