The Senior Contracts Specialist (Supply Chain) is responsible for negotiating, developing, and awarding Vendor Commercial Price Agreements compliant with Company Master Service Contracts (MSCs). This position works closely with Company’s Supply Chain Director and Drilling, Completions & Production Operations in scope of work development, tender preparation and commercial / technical evaluation of vendor proposals to ensure all contract-related terms and conditions (legal, technical and commercial) are properly addressed within a timeline that meets operational needs and schedules.
Performs a wide variety of tasks; contributes to process improvements. Leads the work of small project teams; may formally train less experienced team members. Comprehensive knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Identifies possible solutions for problems/issues of diverse scope using existing solutions. Works under general supervision.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures best value is achieved by competitive tendering, effective negotiation, and fit-for-purpose contract structure that mitigates Company risk.
Assists Drilling, Completions, and Production Operations as well as Facilities in the procurement of well services to ensure security of supply for quality materials, equipment, tools and services are obtained at best overall value in support of Operations in a cost efficient and timely manner.
Manages tendering and contracting process – tender preparation: Request for Proposals (RFPs); evaluation: subsequent commercial analytics and technical assessment of vendor proposals within established fair and objective Company procurement processes, policies, and procedures.
Collaborates with all relative departments in contract preparation and in the negotiation process (Operations, Legal, HSE, Tax, Finance etc.).
Works closely with Operations to prequalify new vendors as required for placement on the Company’s Approved Vendor List
Builds/maintains productive relationships with Operations personnel and key services’ vendors
Performs regional market analysis for services and commodities as required
Tracks, manages, and reports the results of Company services procurement results compared to industry and competitive benchmarks
Generates contract related reports on a regular and ad-hoc basis.
Drafts, administers, and maintains contracts in compliance with contract administrative procedures.
Responsible for commercial contract management / maintenance post award of business on assigned services categories to ensure vendor(s) Price Agreement / Pricebook compliance
Job holder is expected to be flexible and undertake additional duties commensurate with the overall responsibilities within their competence when required.
Occasional travel to field locations as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related field, preferably in an oil and gas environment.
Five (5) years+ supply chain experience related to the oil & gas industry with exposure to developing and initiating contracts for well services.
Solid understanding of contract law and comprehensive knowledge of Procurement & Supply Chain processes.
Experienced in tendering, contract preparation / negotiation and risk assessment / risk mitigation in the oil & gas industry.
Experience developing scopes of work for drilling, completion, and production services in addition to facilities.
An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business, engineering, supply chain management, or related field
Eight (8) years supply chain experience related to the oil & gas industry with exposure to developing and initiating contracts for well services.
CPM or CIPS certification
Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
