Job Title: Contract Technical Designer – Uniform Apparel (Pattern-free Role)

Location: Remote with periodic on-site fit sessions in Torrance, CA

Contract Type: Project-Based or Part-Time

Position Summary:

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, contract-based Technical Designer to join our Product Development team and oversee the fit and spec development of new uniform styles. This role does not require patternmaking. You’ll collaborate with our internal development team and factory partners on the patterning and sample construction process.

Your focus will be on building clear tech packs, driving the fit review process, and ensuring garments meet Image Solutions’ quality, durability, and performance standards across body types and job roles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain tech packs including flat sketches, measurements, and construction specifications
• Lead/Support fit sessions (virtual or in-person); record observations, photos, and actionable revisions
• Ensure consistency of fit, specs, and construction across style lines and size ranges
• Communicate garment revisions with the development team to ensure accurate execution by factory partners
• Validate sample prototypes for functional performance (mobility, durability, safety, etc.)
• Track and organize all development documents throughout the sampling and approval process
• Partner with internal teams (design, sales, and product development) to meet customer-specific standards and timelines

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in apparel technical design, preferably in uniforms, workwear, or performance apparel
• Familiarity with Alvanon fit forms and fit standards +
• Knowledge of PLM/Centric +
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and tech pack creation tools; CAD pattern software experience a plus (Tukatech, CLO, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, sizing standards, and fit evaluation
• Excellent verbal/written communication and documentation skills
• Experience working with offshore factories and navigating development cycles
• Comfortable working independently and flexibly within a contract or project-based schedule
