As a member of the site leadership team; reporting directly to the facility manager, you will manage and drive continuous improvement initiatives targeted at efficiently increasing production at the Federal Technical Center in Lanham, MD. Using your experience, we will rely on you to build upon on our existing culture of lean improvements and take the organization to the next level in the areas of receiving, repair, materials, billing, and shipping and quality operations, while complying with ISO 9000 Quality requirements.
Your responsibilities include:
Establishing yourself as a cross-functional leader and self-starter within the Federal Technical Center. You are expected to collaborate with other managers in the facility and identify inefficiencies, develop improvements, and provide regular updates to management.
Use appropriate measurement, analysis, and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document improvements related to the FTCs continuous improvement program aimed at improving production and product flow.
Develop process improvements and efficiencies within all areas of our product flow including: receiving, materials management, repair, billing, shipping and quality assurance with the aim of increasing productivity and sustaining those solutions responsibly.
Assess new and existing processes to determine overall effectiveness to help management make determinations in the form of adding, maintaining, modifying, or eliminating processes.
Manage the FTCs employee driven Kaizen improvement program and assist employees in implementing their ideas to improve daily operations.
Maintain and manage the FTCs ISO-9001 Quality Assurance Program.
Collaborate with upper management and lean experts within North America Repair Operations for shared initiatives across multiple repair sites.
Develop, maintain, and communicate key site performance indicators for continuous improvement and report performance to management weekly.
Develop a long term strategy to help create a highly efficient reverse logistics facility that capitalizes on innovative processes and provides an exceptional customer service experience in the realm of radio repair operations and service support.
Demonstrated history of successful change implementation that supported operational improvements.
Must possess the ability to develop solutions without direct supervision. Expectation is that you are able to work independently and continuously identify and develop improvement opportunities across the organization.
Must have the ability to provide root cause analysis and effectively present information to management in order to shape decision making at multiple levels.
Proven ability to adapt and manage in a fluid operating environment with the highest focus on quality and customer experience.
Lean Six Sigma or PMP Certifications preferred but not required.
Proficient in MS Office Suite, Google Suite, and MS Project/Visio Software.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related discipline.
3 years of Continuous Improvement/Lean/Leadership/Project Management Experience
