The Continuous Improvement Manager is primarily responsible to lead, manage, and execute strategic Operational Excellence initiatives throughout the site. This role consistently interfaces with Senior Management sponsorship as well as shopfloor interaction and is expected to provide effective communication and influence as the driver and internal expert of Operational Excellence. In addition, the role requires coaching, mentoring and people development of direct reports and other cross functional associates.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Approach Selection: Understand the strategy and goals of the Operational Excellence initiative; Determine and communicate the best approaches that will maximize impact
Project Execution: Organize the effort. Construct teams, Construct deliverables per the OE initiative, Resource deliverables.
People Development: Coach, Mentor, Train per the current Quality Approaches and Skillsets
Influence Leadership: Effectively engage leadership by providing timely updates, analysis, and recommendations specific to current initiatives. Continuously drive and persuade initiative sponsors towards Operational Excellence concepts.
Drive Impact: Continuously assess the level of impact that is realized due to the OE initiative. Provide timely assessments, communications, and recovery plans to achieve and maximize impact.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by his / her manager.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrated commitment to Safety.
Strong proficiency in Continuous Improvement disciplines: Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma
Strong interpersonal skills to be able to influence without authority at all levels
Strong grasp of Industrial Engineering and Quality Engineering concepts
Good understanding of P&L and financial data, ability to monetize savings
Project Management / Facilitation capabilities
Proficiency in Statistical & Data analysis
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to train and coach
Green belt would be a plus Proficiency with Google tools
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Sciences, preferred plus at least 2 years of experience OR at least 5 years of significant Quality Engineering experience
Experience with large scale enterprise improvement initiatives
At least 5 years of experience in Process driven leadership roles in Manufacturing / Industrial Services / Supply Chain
Previous experience in mineral or cement industry is a plus
Occasional travel for training or to other sites
