Summer Internship Program

The program is a 12-week paid internship immersive experience that provides functional learning working on robust and challenging project work, Executive and Senior leadership engagement, and exposure to Danaher Business System fundamentals. The program culminates with a report-out presentation to leaders from the organization. After successful completion of the program, interns will have the opportunity to return as a full-time associate upon graduation.

This position is part of the Instrument Manufacturing department located in Miami, FL and will be fully on-site. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the manufacturing operations team and report to the Danaher Business Systems Senior Manager, responsible for driving continuous improvement across the site. The Continuous Improvement Engineer Intern for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for supporting our efforts to enhance manufacturing efficiency, optimize processes, and uphold the highest standards of product quality and safety. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in lean transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist local teams in the implementation of lean transformation projects aimed at improving process efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall operational effectiveness.
  • Gather and analyze data related to manufacturing processes to identify improvement opportunities and measure the effectiveness of changes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various projects, ensuring timely execution and delivery. Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of these projects from concept through implementation.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, or related discipline.
  • Strong interest in process improvement, change management, and project management

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Prior coursework and knowledge of Lean Principles and Process Improvement
