Your Role on Our Team:

Milwaukee Tool is continuing to grow, and we are seeking a Project Engineer to unlock the next level of productivity within our Distribution Network. This position is a fundamental part of our cross-functional team located in a fast-paced environment of the Distribution network in Olive Branch, Mississippi.

The ideal candidate will have a lean mindset, with proven Project Management experience in various distribution processes including conveyance, material handling, packaging, equipment or automation. We are looking for outstanding communicators that thrive in an environment where they can help solve problems, coach others, and deliver business-changing results. Strong project management skills, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication, are requirements.

You’ll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

Lean Mentality

  • Effectively collaborates w/ cross functional teams to drive value through problem solving and creative thinking to accomplish short-term and long-term goals
  • Ability to lead project implementation with
  • Perform analysis of current state & provide multiple what-if scenarios for improved efficiencies. Understand and present financial impacts of these scenarios.
  • Brainstorm and Implement robust improvements that will scale as we grow
  • Provide coaching and training on various process improvement techniques to build internal capabilities

Project Management

  • Lead cross-functional projects of small to medium complexity – process improvements and/or capital expenditure projects
  • Ensure cross functional alignment on scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
  • Develop and execute charters, action plans and project timelines with plans in place for long term sustainment of results
  • Lead team meetings as needed to drive results.
  • Establish appropriate metrics and report on project progress, risks, and results. This includes executive-level reporting, management updates, and best practice sharing throughout the organization.
  • Ensure process changes are fully integrated through documentation, communication, perseverance, and consistency.
  • Drive accountability for team to successfully complete tasks.
  • Acts as CEO of project - Takes accountability and possesses a sense of urgency for entire project outcome.

Leadership

  • Capability to quickly establish credibility, influence project teams and persuade professionals at all levels.
  • Partners with key stakeholders and effectively communicates up, down, and across the organization
  • Leads with clear direction of priorities in a climate of change
  • Maintains a strategic cross functional mindset and understands how business decisions will impact entire organization

The TOOLS you’ll bring with you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent years of directly related experience in Lean/Continuous Improvement roles
  • 2+ years of experience with proven operations process improvements (distribution experience preferred)
  • Previous kaizen participation experiences where problem solving, process development and/or behavior change methods and tools have been used
  • Strong project management skills
  • Advanced Data analysis skills in MS Excel, Pareto, Control charts, PowerPivot, and/or VBA
  • Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Periodic travel may be required up to 15%

  • WMS, ERP, Distribution, and Inventory Management experience
