Job Summary
The Senior Engineer Process Continuous Improvement Coordinator leads moderately complex engineering process improvement initiatives across the Data Center Business Unit and Fluid Conveyance engineering organization. The role supports continuous improvement activities in standard works, project execution discipline, engineering dashboards, process mapping, problem solving, knowledge capture, and all CI activities that improve engineering productivity, quality, traceability, launch readiness, and cross-site collaboration.
Role Scope and Business Impact
This role coordinates engineering continuous improvement activities that make R&D, NPD, CPE, test lab, and product compliance work more effective, repeatable, and measurable. The Senior Engineer Process Continuous Improvement Coordinator has direct impact on engineering execution speed, process reliability, documentation quality, resource visibility, problem-solving discipline, lessons learned deployment, onboarding effectiveness, and consistent use of engineering standards across sites and regions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead assigned engineering process improvement initiatives across R&D, NPD, CPE, test lab, product compliance, and engineering support functions.
- Map current engineering workflows, identify gaps, define improved future-state processes, and coordinate implementation of standard work across sites.
- Develop and maintain engineering dashboards, process indicators, action trackers, visual management routines, and performance review materials for the engineering organization.
- Support project execution discipline by improving templates, checklists, stage-gate practices, design review preparation, risk reviews, decision logs, and lessons learned processes.
- Facilitate structured problem solving, Kaizen activities, process reviews, standard work workshops, and cross-functional improvement events.
- Coordinate engineering knowledge capture, best practice sharing, onboarding material, training content, and deployment of common methods across global teams.
- Improve documentation control, traceability, data quality, test report consistency, engineering change readiness, and technical evidence management.
- Partner with engineering managers and technical leaders to identify bottlenecks, resource constraints, recurring issues, process variation, and improvement priorities.
- Support alignment between engineering processes and Danfoss Business System or Lean practices, including daily management, 5S, standard work, visual management, and sustainment.
- Coordinate implementation of digital tools, reporting routines, file structures, knowledge repositories, and collaboration practices that improve engineering efficiency.
- Coach engineers and stakeholders on process usage, problem-solving methods, templates, dashboards, and continuous improvement routines.
- Track improvement actions through closure and communicate progress, risks, decisions, and benefits to engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, engineering management, continuous improvement, or a related technical field required; master’s degree or advanced technical/business education preferred.
- Relevant experience in engineering, product development, current product engineering, process improvement, Lean, project coordination, operations support, or continuous improvement roles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead moderately complex improvement projects, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, communicate requirements, and deliver measurable process improvements with limited supervision.
- Experience with Lean, Kaizen, structured problem solving, process mapping, dashboards, standard work, visual management, action tracking, and project execution routines preferred.
- Experience working with engineering documentation, test reports, design reviews, project governance, engineering change processes, or product lifecycle processes preferred.
- Ability to communicate clearly with engineers, managers, technical leaders, operations teams, quality teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Technical Requirements
- Solid understanding of engineering workflows, product lifecycle processes, project execution methods, documentation control, technical evidence management, and cross-functional engineering interfaces.
- Working knowledge of Lean, Danfoss Business System practices, structured problem solving, process mapping, standard work, visual management, action tracking, and continuous improvement methods.
- Ability to build dashboards, metrics, trackers, review materials, templates, checklists, and reporting routines that support engineering decision-making and accountability.
- Ability to analyze process performance, identify root causes, evaluate trade-offs, prioritize improvements, and translate findings into practical actions.
- Ability to use standard office applications, collaboration tools, project tracking tools, data analysis tools, and document management systems to support engineering process excellence.
