Position Details

Tilson is seeking a dynamic, detail-oriented person to join our project team in the design and construction of a large fiber optic installation project in Hartford, CT. This position reports to the Project Manager and works closely with engineering, construction, licensing, GIS and Accounts Receivable. The Construction Specialist is responsible for assisting with the scheduling and tracking of construction activities and inventory management. This position will understand the build process and use known metrics, critical thinking and sound judgement to create and maintain the schedule. This role may be asked to lead internal project initiatives. This position can be remote and may be asked to travel to market up to 15% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of the monthly and quarterly construction schedule.
  • Works closely with the Construction Manager to develop subcontractor work-orders, and tracks jobs from assignment through invoicing.
  • Responsible to lead internal project initiatives critical to project construction.
  • Researching and gathering construction backup documentation needed to meet client invoicing requirements.
  • Understands and ensures subcontractor material requirements and assists with procurement when necessary.
  • Assembling documentation at each construction milestone to assist with internal reporting necessary to track and properly invoice project deliverables.
  • Assisting project teams with uploading construction documents to client portal.
  • Assisting Engineering team with gathering as-built documentation from our construction team.
  • Maintaining accurate construction records, managing data, and creating accurate reports.
  • Other duties as needed or assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • SalesForce/Site-Tracker experience preferred, not required.
  • 3GIS experience preferred, not required.
  • Comfortable navigating GIS based computer platforms.
  • The ability to pick up new tasks quickly.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Experience with construction preferred, but not required.
