Job Description

Blue Chip Talent, in partnership with a leading energy and infrastructure organization, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex utility construction initiatives. This position is responsible for driving capital projects from planning through completion, managing budgets and project risks, and coordinating contractors, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

Job Duties

• Lead execution of capital construction projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle
• Establish project scopes, schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates
• Coordinate engineering, design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning activities
• Track project performance against established budget, schedule, and scope objectives
• Facilitate contractor bidding processes and support supplier selection activities
• Direct field construction efforts and ensure alignment with project requirements
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impacts
• Manage change requests and maintain project control documentation
• Prepare and present project updates, forecasts, and performance metrics to leadership
• Ensure all project activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements

Skills & Experience

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or related discipline with 6+ years of project management experience; OR Associate degree with 8+ years of related experience; OR High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of project management experience
• Demonstrated experience managing utility, gas distribution, or infrastructure construction projects
• Strong understanding of capital project planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controls
• Experience managing project schedules, milestones, and deliverables across multiple workstreams
• Experience evaluating project risks and executing formal change management processes
• Knowledge of contractor management, procurement practices, and construction oversight
• Experience utilizing structured project management methodologies and project controls
• Ability to analyze project performance and implement corrective actions when necessary

Desired

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
• Utility operations or gas distribution industry experience
• Experience utilizing Primavera P6 for scheduling and project tracking
• Background supporting union labor environments and contractor relationships
• Experience developing procurement and contracting strategies
• Advanced experience performing cost analysis and project forecasting
• Experience presenting project recommendations and status updates to executive leadership
• Experience managing multiple large-scale capital projects simultaneously
