Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on leader with deep field experience to oversee all aspects of our construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will be the ultimate authority on your projects, responsible for managing crews, ensuring profitability, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

This is not a desk-bound role. You will split your time between the office and the field, ensuring that every project meets our rigorous standards and that our clients’ needs are always the top priority.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Operations:

• Provide leadership and direction to sustain departmental growth within budget and long-term goals.

• Oversee all aspects of project management, including forward planning, job management, and bidding.

• Select and manage Foremen and construction crews, ensuring efficient workflow and top performance.

• Ensure adherence to company policies, OSHA safety requirements, and record-keeping procedures.

Project Execution:

• Manage the full project lifecycle: take-offs, estimating, bidding, purchasing, and attending architect/GC meetings.

• Develop and manage production schedules and schedules of values.

• Monitor job costs and field tracking to ensure projects are on time and under budget.

• Conduct pre-closeout calls with each customer to guarantee work excellence and satisfaction.

Business Development & Strategy:

• Seek new opportunities to expand services for existing clients and acquire new profitable customers.

• Negotiate new services and alliances with other subcontractors.

• Stay current with technology and construction techniques to integrate new methods that improve efficiency.

Team Development:

• Serve as a leader, mentor, and trainer, placing a strong emphasis on professional growth and safety.

• Maintain proper apprentice ratios in compliance with Prevailing Wage Regulations.

• Conduct performance evaluations and assist in personnel decisions.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing construction crews in complex, sophisticated job conditions.

• Technical Skills: Journeyman-level understanding of technology, blueprint reading, construction methodology, site inspections, and OSHA safety requirements. Proficiency in pre-construction activities (estimating, take-offs, bidding).

• Education: [Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience].

• Leadership: Proven ability to motivate employees at all levels and maintain high morale.

• Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills to interact with clients, owners, general contractors, and internal teams.

• Physical & Travel: Ability to climb, bend, lift, and balance in hazardous areas. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable to drive in various weather conditions.

Working Conditions

This position requires a blend of office and field work (approximately 50% each), which includes regular job site visits and sales calls.
