Commercial Construction Lead Man

Pay: Approximately $25/hr DOE

Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Location: Shreveport, LA 71105

Position Overview

Commercial and industrial construction company seeking an experienced Lead Man to provide hands-on leadership to a field crew.

The Lead Man reports directly to the Project Superintendent and is responsible for carrying out the Superintendent’s daily plan, directing the crew, and keeping the Superintendent updated on progress, needs, and jobsite issues.

This is a working lead position — you will be expected to work alongside your crew while keeping the job moving safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a construction crew of 10+ employees

• Assign daily work based on direction from the Superintendent

• Work alongside the crew and provide hands-on leadership

• Monitor quality, productivity, and safety

• Keep the Superintendent updated on job progress and issues

• Coordinate tools, materials, and equipment needed by the crew

• Read measurements, plans, and project information

• Train and assist less-experienced employees

• Coordinate with other trades as needed

• Maintain a safe and organized jobsite

Requirements

• Commercial or industrial construction experience required

• Previous experience leading a crew of 10+ employees required

• Strong hands-on construction skills

• Ability to lead employees and keep a crew productive

• Ability to read plans and measurements

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• Comfortable working from ladders, lifts, and elevated areas when needed

• Valid driver's license required

• Dependable attendance

We are looking for someone who can take direction from the Superintendent, take ownership of the crew, and keep the work moving.

This is a field role: the work happens at customer and job sites rather than at a single worksite, and you will be based within driving distance of the job location. Expect day trips to job sites, with most nights at home.
